Oh Donna…!

10A_DK courtesy jpegThere’s always a day in the week when I feel more vulnerable than I do on other days. When I eagerly desire to feel more feminine but chic, comfortable but sexy, but I can’t pull it from within. This is the day when a cashmere hugging sweater or a cotton silk wrap dress by Donna Karan is pulled from the archive.

Donna Karan not only knows how to design for and dress women, she channels a calm energy that we are continually attracted to. Women will always love draped and wrapped silhouettes that they can play with to mold to their bodies. Cashmere and silk will always love our bodies – even when we don’t.12A_DK Courtesy jpeg

The 2010 Spring collection from Donna Karan was like a watery dream that kept on moving in a soft seductive way – Ahhhh! The color palette was muted and attractive – pearl blush, an array of greys, white – and then bang! – a lipstick RED, a daring twist to the dream.

The whole collection was a favorite, but to handpick my very favorites – I’d have to go with the blush, one-sleeve, body hugging wrap-dress; the flowy, red, sheer coat over the red, strapless, layered-sheath; and at last – the white, softly tiered skirt-suit. It’s a suit that makes me want to marry my husband one more time – there really is no limit to how often a woman can marry her man – but there are limited skirt suits out there to do so.
