Recap From The Rainy Days

Bryant Park - the tents
It’s a beautiful day in New York today – a clear blue sky. Viewing the spring collections on a sunny day is quite more reasonable than it was in the last few days of rain.
Davidelfin – This kick-started fashion week for us. His conceptual collection offered three shades of green, two shades of blue and some white. One-shoulder pieces, short-sleeve blazers and a mint-green tailored skort came down the runway. Impeccable jersey pieces and draping – a white button-down with navy jersey, draped asymmetrically across the front. Shoes: colored-blocked Louboutin platforms. “We feel attracted and trapped by the androgynous and the undefined because it arouses the imaginary in us’’.
Yigal Azrouel – A bold urban collection of cutouts, nude sheer and body-conscious dresses. Wearable edgy wardrobe pieces – knits and cropped trousers. To what do we owe these midriffs? Fabulous asymmetrical straps on tanks and dresses. Blacks and nude sheers. Men’s: pajama shorts and a sleeveless trench coat, a sheer striped cardigan and a fabulous leather bomber. We love Yigal!
Monarchy Collection: By Eric Kim – the show took place in the big tent. The energy was hyped when we walked in. Clusters of photographers were shooting Janice Dickinson in the front row. We took our seats (a view from the fifth row). The music got louder as if the show were starting. Down the runway came a handful of photographers followed by AnnaLynne McCord who was wearing a beautiful black cocktail dress from the collection. The photographers that were shooting Dickinson rushed over and followed the McCord crowd as she took her seat. Dickinson had been replaced by a larger star. The collection is feminine but sharp – floral taffeta strapless origami dress, a Navy tuxedo bolero paired with metallic lined jersey cropped-top and navy high-waisted tapered denim.
