Some wardrobes have been given a large dose of 80’s presence this season with body-conscious dresses, large, padded, and single shoulders, leather and pleather, eye-lit mirrors and other embellishments. Not participating (again)? Completely understandable. However, for the girl who’s dying to indulge in this nostalgia – keep it simple and by all means leave your hair out of it. Take a bit more of a futuristic approach to this unexpected re-visit of this era, keep the sexiness subtle, and add a touch of Sci-Fi.

We adore Christopher Kane ever since his boudoir-body-con-stretched-lace-grommet collection in Spring ’07. Now that the young fearless genius has joined the Topshop team again with an embellished beastly collection that fits everything I have described above, we are celebrating and shopping and so should you. The only additional advice we can give you is: get some of that and get some of that now – this inventory will run out soon, so run sister, run! While you’re at it, check out the mesh platforms. I’m not sold on them, but I’m curious.
