There’s really only one out there that I can’t stop thinking about. Ever since last March when Stefano Pilati, for Yves Saint Laurent, sent the ultimate chalk-striped man blazer down the runway (until now when it’s actually in the stores), I have not been able to stop thinking about it. I’m also getting daily reminders that the jacket has arrived. Once you tell your sales person about the items that you absolutely have to have, they don’t forget to let you know once they ship. They put them aside for you and call you daily.When you are trying to put an end to the desire for the perfect manfriend blazer by convincing yourself that borrowing money from your IRA or selling your worthless stocks to buy a piece of couture might not be a smart move in this day and age, the worst thing you can possibly hear is “I’m just checking to see if you’re coming in today to try on your blazer, because there is a waiting list – we only have one in your size”. A waiting list? NO!

I simply have to get that blazer. How many blazers are out there that make me feel like I’m in Paris and that I that I should pick up smoking again and wear triple platforms to Starbucks for no reason? None. Well, one. This is when borrowing money from your retirement fund is absolutely the greatest idea. At the end of the day, Yves Saint Lauren is art. It’s timeless art that will live in my wardrobe until it gets sold at an auction to raise money for my charity. The charity I plan to start one day. When I have more couture to sell to make money…for the children, of course…
