There used to be a time when these boots were worn only by your favorite super heroine. For a period of time, even mere mortals wore them. Now, things have changed and the thigh-high boot keeps getting higher and pricier. Take Stella McCartney’s perforated style (shown) and Rodarte’s $3,687.75 thigh-high boots, designed by emerging shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood. Even Prada showed a Wellington version for those slippery-when-wet times. With the return of the thigh-high boot, could this be the end of the leggings craze? I’m afraid we’ll have to wait until next year to find out if this phenomenon will go into mass production. Let’s just hope for the best.
