In this current recession era, people who refuse to be a victim of the event and make a change tend to turn their lives around drastically. They start new companies, quit their jobs and pursue forms of art, and most importantly, gush creativity everywhere. This is the time to let your creativity flow. Given a limited budget to entertain and be entertained, a dose of creativity is necessary. Everything from ‘potlucks’ to searching for free concerts is in high demand.

Going to a cafe to listen to live music is ideal; you only pay for your drinks/food and not for the entertainment. This makes you feel like you get more for your money. Adding a sheep’s head eating competition to such a venue is not something that would immediately come to mind. At a downtown Reykjavik cafe last night I witnessed exactly that. Six young and chic-looking guys were lined up to eat six half-sheep’s heads in ten minutes. During this event, the guys ripped the skin and the meat off the carcass and shoved it in, accompanied by live music. The prize: one night and room service at
