Love her or hate her, Courtney Love of Hole, Kurt Cobain, Sid and Nancy, drug abuse, tabloid punch lines and public outburst notoriety is undeniably . . . interesting. Perhaps I can even go so far as to call her downright fascinating—if you get into that rock/punk-nobody understands me-I don’t give a sh*t about you lifestyle-celebrity thing.

‘Nobody’s Daughter’ is Courtney’s latest Hole release. It’s raucously polished and her best work yet (in my opinion). And while I’d love to rave about her album, this article is about her latest entry into social media status via a new blog (coordinated by three or so trusty cohorts) called whatcourtneyworetoday.com. Wicked!

Let’s go back a sec. In the 90’s, ‘Clo’ as she’s referred to in the blog, absolutely defined the baby doll dress, thanks to Betsey Johnson. And if you remember her at the Oscars, after playing Althea in The People vs. Larry Flynt, she cleaned up to look like a sublimely sophisticated goddess in a little white Versace number. Who knew!

Over the years, I’d venture to say she’s done it all and then some—strictly speaking about fashion of course. Noting Rick Owens and Givenchy as her faves, we’ve also seen her in just about everything from Preen to McQueen and many-a-trashy in-betweens.

Whatcourtneyloveworetoday.com is a “social experiment,” Courtney told Women’s Wear Daily. “The rules of this are, I send pictures of what I wore that day, and they also have access to my files on my computer… my only condition is that I have to send them at least one picture a day,” said Courtney… “It’s just random things, and it’s based on what I wore that day. The only thing I can think of is that it will make me do my hair more.” The result? Some candid iPhone photos, photo shoot pics and strange blogger comments. I rather like it.
