To be or not be bedazzled – that is the question. Really, are we going to be doing this now? To Swarovskify our lady parts? I’m always a fan of jeweled Miu Miu sandals, but the thought of crystallizing my private area is a bit like having crazy bedazzled nails – only tackier (if possible) and visible only to the questionably lucky members of that private studio. That said, the monkey business with decorating your vagina is messed up, right? However, sporting Marion Cotillard’s forehead tittaes is more my cup of tea, and gives wicked power to the women. Mad Men Barbie Dolls of Don Draper, Betty Draper, Roger Sterling and Joan Holloway have been created for Mattel’s Barbie Fashion Model Collection. The dolls will hit stores this summer, as the fourth season of Man Men releases, retailing at $74.95 per doll. The collection is targeted for adult collectors, rather than young girls. Sure, if you’re into that kinda thing…(collecting something other than designer shoes and vintage Hermès bags). In short, the dolls look fairly chic and believable, but what happened to Joan’s figure? Did she automatically become skinny because she’s a Barbie? I object. As the fashion world is at last presenting real curves and power of (and to) the women – we can’t let our main curve role model go all skinny. Bitch Plea…se!

Where’s The Beef?

Happy Sunday everyone! I love Sundays. There’s something so peacefully delicious about Sundays. Whether you stay in bed with the newspaper, take the dog out for a walk, meet your friends for brunch in your neighbourhood, listen to classical music and open your best bottle of wine – or all of the above, Sundays are just yummy. Today is Super Bowl Sunday – not that I know anything about football, I just tune in for the commercials. It’s the most exciting commercial premier fest in America. That said, it’s also very political – not everyone can purchase a spot during the hyped event. You won’t see this commercial today – Not appropriate for American families? Oops! When one hundred million Americans tune in they ‘have to’ cater to the masses. Gay is a minority and minorities breed fear – the Super Bowl doesn’t want to fear the public, or have the public fear it. Airing an anti-abortion commercial is more suitable (thank you Tim Tebow). Welcome to 2010 – this is the American public at its best? BTW – eat vegan dogs today, we really don’t need a cow massacre to enjoy our Sunday.

P.S. After 23 years Pepsi decided not to advertise during today’s event.

Just like first dates, there are several other things in life that don’t have a clear message. The idea may have come from a valid place but the execution failed entirely. I’ve been thinking about the cushioned toilet seat–common in homes in the 80’s–and how gross it was to sit on someone else’s padded toilet seat. (Another thing: it creeps me out when I see a stack of magazines in people’s bathrooms because I start to visualize them sitting on the toilet.) I can’t have these images in my head – to erase them from my mind I started to think about other ‘things’ that just didn’t and don’t work:

All-in-One Shampoo and Conditioner
Icesave
Mel Gibson films
Certain can openers
Family reality shows (Kardashians, Jon & Kate + Eight)
‘Diet’ drinks (anything with NutraSweet, Saccharine, etc.)

Stadium Buddy

Celebrities in shoes that are too large (Stylist be-gone!)
Prescription drugs for normal behavior (i.e. Restless Leg-Syndrome, face-ache)
Any food item that comes in a tube
Snuggies
My Space
Flavored still water

Women who dress too young (i.e. 45-year olds wearing studs).

It’s Thursday night and I’m on a second date. I really like him. As in WOW! He’s ridiculously handsome and has the most charming manners. Makes me feel as if I’m in a movie. (They don’t make them like that any more. This is old New York style.) Until the waitress delivers an incorrect order, apologizes and takes care of it. He looks at me, shivers and says:

Him: No chin

Me: What?

Him: People with no chin. They’re useless.

Me: What do you mean?

Him: No-chinners. They’re weak. Worthless.

Me: Oh… What if I had a small chin? Would I be worthless?

Him: I don’t know. You wouldn’t be here.

Me: You’re lucky you have an ass.
