There’s been a lot of talk about hair lately. From fashion week to Chis Rock’s documentary Good Hair. It’s fall and women all over the world are fancying a new hairstyle. Whatever you did with your hair in the summer is not working for you anymore. If your hair is anything like mine: dead and lumpy after being overly teased during the last couple of months of summer traveling and NY fashion week – you need hair therapy.

The weekend is here and you have your social calendar up to date. You’re picking up your dry cleaning during your lunch hour and putting your outfits together in your head during your afternoon meeting. What’s your look – artsy and edgy, 80’s chic in a leather sheath, or 70’s hippy? Whatever direction you’re taking, make room for your hair – I literally mean space. Give your hair a break this weekend and get wiggy. Go after the jumbo afro Marc Jacobs sent down the runway for Louis Vuitton. Be brave – it’s time for your Sasha Fierce to come out.

Some wardrobes have been given a large dose of 80’s presence this season with body-conscious dresses, large, padded, and single shoulders, leather and pleather, eye-lit mirrors and other embellishments. Not participating (again)? Completely understandable. However, for the girl who’s dying to indulge in this nostalgia – keep it simple and by all means leave your hair out of it. Take a bit more of a futuristic approach to this unexpected re-visit of this era, keep the sexiness subtle, and add a touch of Sci-Fi.

We adore Christopher Kane ever since his boudoir-body-con-stretched-lace-grommet collection in Spring ’07. Now that the young fearless genius has joined the Topshop team again with an embellished beastly collection that fits everything I have described above, we are celebrating and shopping and so should you. The only additional advice we can give you is: get some of that and get some of that now – this inventory will run out soon, so run sister, run! While you’re at it, check out the mesh platforms. I’m not sold on them, but I’m curious.
