Now that summer is here and there are plenty of activities to do and cocktails to drink – it’s wise to take a moment inside (a break from the sunshine to avoid any prune effect that can occur with too much of a good thing) and surf for what’s desired on the internet. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to click around. There has simply been too much traveling, socializing and working for me lately – which I’ll share with you soon. But for now, on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon, I found the following to love. And of course to share with you my dear reader – since you’re such a sale fanatic. (Wink wink and lifting my right shoulder as I say this to you.)

Virgin America is my absolutely favorite airline in the US. Haven’t tried it? Well now is clearly the time since they’re having an airfare sale from $49 per ride if you purchase before June 28th. This is when you just take out the calendar and plan ahead… Grab your seat, sister!

As the weather gets more moody with evenings dark oh-so-early, it invited us to carry a bit of Film Noir flair. One important item in this genre is the Trench Coat. If this item is missing from your closet, it’s a major mishap on your behalf and you need to fix it ASAP. Having the perfect trench that can go over anything from your wardrobe: jean + turtleneck + knee high boots (or a simple sheath), is not only essential but also freeing. It’s a piece that you can grab and go into any situation and come out alive. I have a trench by Christopher Bailey for Burberry Prorsum that is très, très Film Noir and always sexy to wear as a piece on its own. A luxury with having the perfect trench is, you can wear it as an outfit. Throw it over a legging and cashmere tank and you’re golden to go from the grocery to an art opening.

It was a beautiful day today in NYC, so I decided to take a trip down to Noho before heading to class. I strolled around window-shopping , eating a Gyro without anything catching my eye. As soon as I hit Broadway and 4th, I had a moment of joy. I saw Superdry’s future location. It’s the second of the Japan-inspired, British fashion chain to come Stateside and I am a fanatic of it. And some thought the coming of Topshop was big. I’m going to be late to class everyday.

It’s that time of year again, when designer collaborations are popping up in neighborhoods all over the place. You certainly don’t want to miss these. These fashion houses are bringing you stilettos and bags from Jimmy Choo for H&M; grommets and romantic dresses from Christopher Kane for Topshop; minimalistic and architecturally designed outerwear with a Japanese aesthetic from +J by Jil Sander for Indiglo; and 55 pieces of leopard, sequins, bags, leather and lace from Rodarte for Target. It is an experience that will leave you feeling like a million dollar bill. So get there early, because once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Some wardrobes have been given a large dose of 80’s presence this season with body-conscious dresses, large, padded, and single shoulders, leather and pleather, eye-lit mirrors and other embellishments. Not participating (again)? Completely understandable. However, for the girl who’s dying to indulge in this nostalgia – keep it simple and by all means leave your hair out of it. Take a bit more of a futuristic approach to this unexpected re-visit of this era, keep the sexiness subtle, and add a touch of Sci-Fi.

We adore Christopher Kane ever since his boudoir-body-con-stretched-lace-grommet collection in Spring ’07. Now that the young fearless genius has joined the Topshop team again with an embellished beastly collection that fits everything I have described above, we are celebrating and shopping and so should you. The only additional advice we can give you is: get some of that and get some of that now – this inventory will run out soon, so run sister, run! While you’re at it, check out the mesh platforms. I’m not sold on them, but I’m curious.
